As part of its ongoing efforts to foster innovation and strategic planning in emerging technologies, MIGHT was invited by the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA) to moderate a session on “Drone in Logistics, Advanced Air Mobility, and Future Implications” during the Sabah Drone Open Day 2024. This event, held on October 29-30, 2024, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, was a strategic collaboration between SEDIA and Futurise, showcasing the latest advancements in drone technology across various sectors. MIGHT provide valuable insights into the potential of drones in logistics and advanced air mobility, drawing from the expertise of drone specialists. The session highlighted the challenges posed by Sabah’s geographical terrain, which presents significant opportunities for drone services in areas such as supplying food and medicine, as well as reconnaissance. Emphasising the need for a coordinated effort involving government authorities and industry participants, the discussion underscored the potential of the low-altitude economy as Sabah’s next engine of growth. This initiative aligns with MIGHT’s mission to promote foresight and innovation, positioning Malaysia as a leader in leveraging emerging technologies for sustainable economic development.
