In December 2010, the Science Advisor to the Prime Minister of Malaysia met with representatives of Government Office for Science (GOScience) and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) in London, UK. The meeting agreed to further explore collaboration in enhancing Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) agenda of both countries including Foresight activities. Subsequent to that, a follow-through visit was conducted by MIGHT’s Foresight Team in May 2011 to various Foresight related organisations in UK, as follows:
- Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), University of Manchester,
- Manchester Government Office for Science (GOScience), London
The purpose of these visits among others to strengthen Foresight methodology through sharing of experience and updates on latest initiative, to share outcome of Malaysia Technology Foresight exercise with panel of experts in UK and solicit their views and to explore possible joint collaboration through a Foresight project between Malaysia and UK.
