On 1st July 2016, MIGHT has conducted a dialogue session with the rail stakeholders to highlight the missed opportunities from the RM100 billion government investment on rail projects since 1990s. The outcome from the discussion leads to the consensus agreement from the industry players to develop a White Paper to Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). The proposal will highlight the industry’s request to make rail as the priority sector and provision of incentive for rail human capital development. Another series of discussion was held on 25 July 2016 to discuss the details of the proposal including the objectives, proposed model and some consideration to be taken in developing the White Paper.”
